At Pack Expo International, Epson will be showing its latest color label printers.
I must admit, my first experience with small color printers for labels wasn’t good. The inks were water-based, and the colors ran whenever the finished label got slightly damp. The printheads would constantly stop for a cleaning routine at the most inconvenient moments. And trying to print a full-bleed label? Forget it.
Fortunately, the Epson ColorWorks printers arrived on the market.
The first ColorWorks printers brought a level of robustness that had been lacking before. They could be used with more durable inks, making the printed labels suitable for more applications.
At Pack Expo, Epson will show the latest color-label printer models, including the CW-C8000.

Since those early days, the Epson printers have continued to evolve and the CW-C8000 is the latest iteration.
It’s a 4-inch-wide printer that can print full-color CMYK labels at high speeds, making it ideal for medium—to high-volume labeling jobs. Pigment-based inks produce a durable print; both matt and gloss inks are available.
In addition to Epson’s print software, the ColorWorks printers are compatible with ZPL II files, SAP and other middleware programs.
Printing your labels in-house is also a great example of Late-Stage-Customization.
In addition to the latest C8000 printer, Epson will show a CW-C6000 printer integrated with a semi-automatic label applicator at Pack Expo International.
