Toshiba might not be the best-known brand in the label printer market, at least not here in North America, but they do have some nicely engineered products. The company has recently launched a new platform, A-Brid, which Toshiba says will enhance a new era of industrial printing.

So what’s it all about?
It’s a printer management platform that allows remote access to a fleet of label printers, whether at the same location or remotely via the cloud. It allows for printer set up and cloning as well as firmware updates and other common tasks.
It allows users to manage printing remotely – the Toshiba documentation says A-Brid automatically recognizes common printer languages, so I’m assuming it will print to other printer OEMs products as well as Toshiba (I’m not 100% certain about this part).
A-Brad can track consumables usage and place replenishment orders as needed.
It can act as a label management program.
