Signode Battery-Powered Hand Tool for Plastic Strapping

When I saw this press release, it immediately caught my eye.

I’ve often been involved in trade shows where the folks in the factory shipped the exhibit pieces on pallets or in boxes, secured with plastic straps to keep everything together. How nice it would have been to have a reliable handheld system to get everything ready for the return shipment at the end of the show.

This new battery-operated tool, the  BXT Go™ from Signode, is a solution for those occasions, times when products need to be strapped together (a stack of pallets, boxes that need to be held together, items that need to be secured onto pallets, and more), and it isn’t possible to use a conventional automatic or semi-automatic system.

The BXT Go strapping tool is a battery-powered handheld unit designed for mid-level strapping applications. The tool sits alongside the company’s existing BXT4 model, which is built for heavier-duty, high-tension use, offering operators a lighter, more cost-conscious option for everyday tasks.

Nicole Ostryzniuk, Vice President of Global Tools at Signode, said the BXT Go was developed to complement the BXT4 by offering a practical alternative for professionals who need a balance between cost and productivity rather than maximum tension capability.

The BXT Go works with both PET and PP strapping and is optimized for half-inch and five-eighths-inch strap widths. It offers auto, semi-automatic, and manual operating modes, with controls designed to keep the interface simple for operators switching between tasks throughout the day.

Weighing 8.05 pounds, including the battery, the tool has been engineered with weight and balance in mind to reduce operator fatigue during repeated use. Power comes from a Bosch 18V lithium-ion battery system, which Signode says can reach 80 percent charge in around 24 minutes, limiting downtime between shifts.
