One of the highlights of the run in to Christmas (at least to a few people) is the announcement of the Pantone Color of the Year.
For 2025 it’s Mocha Mousse (Pantone 17-1230.

Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.
~ Leatrice Eiseman – Executive Director Pantone Color Institute
Personally, I don’t mind a little mocha – adding a little Bourbon makes it rather nice – but I’m not really feeling the color, maybe I just don’t go for browns.
The folks at the craftsnark subReddit don’t seem to be too impressed either; see the thread here: r/craftsnark. Mocha Mousse is described as Sad Beige over there 😀
