News Brief – Epson Software for Color Shipping Labels

Have you ever wanted to add color to your shipping labels?

Maybe a little marketing message, product info, or something similar?

Epson has introduced Label Boost™ software that lets you do just that.

The concept is rather cool – you send your print job to your label printer, the software intercepts it and adds a customized color area to it, before passing it over to the printer.

This concept is clearly aimed at e-commerce companies and allows them to take part in the trend of including advertising on shipping boxes, if you want to get involved, it could be a solution for you.

As with everything, there are a few drawbacks:

  • You have to use one of the Epson ColorWorks printers, not your existing label printer.
  • The concept makes the label longer, increasing the time needed to print and it might not fit on smaller packages.
  • There is no print-and-apply solution, so this is only suitable for lower-volume operations.
