At the recent Pack Expo Show in Las Vegas, Atlantic Packaging and Westrock showed an interesting concept they have been collaborating on.
Canopy Wrap intends to solve the current problem of recycling plastic PE shrink-wrap film used on trays of cans and bottles.
Currently, the plastic used for these products isn’t suitable for curbside recycling, ensuring that much of it ends up in the general trash.
Canopy Wrap is a kraft paper-based fiber material suitable for regular curbside recycling, a step forward in sustainability. The companies claim about 77% of the content can be recovered and processed.
