New Wide Format Label Printer from Toshiba

Most direct thermal or thermal transfer printers come in print widths of either 4 inches or 6 inches. This is no accident, because these sizes cover the vast majority of labeling applications. There are, however, times when you might need to print a larger label—say, up to 8 inches wide. This could be for pallets, perhaps, or large chemical drums. What are your options there?

There is a new addition to this wide thermal printing market: the new BX820T from Toshiba.

The new printer has a maximum print width of 8 inches and can handle labels up to 8.7 inches wide. The print resolution is 300 dpi, and the max speed is 6 ips.

The printer uses Toshiba’s A-BRID operation for control and connectivity.

As you’d expect, the printer can handle all common barcode types and emulate most competitive printer languages.

Toshiba says the new printer will be helpful for printing logistics and compliance labels in chemicals, automotive, horticultural and general industrial applications.
