Packaging giant Tetra Pak and Mengniu Group in China have announced the launch of a limited edition milk product range customized with 30 different designs of masterpieces from Van Gogh and Monet.

The aseptic packaging, printed with Tetra Pak’s digital printing system, is a collaboration with the museum group Meet You Museum and is available at retail locations in China and online.
The concept allows consumers to experience some of the world’s greatest art while enjoying their milky drinks.
While the Tetra Pak press release doesn’t mention barcoding, this would be a fantastic opportunity to use a GS1 Digital Link barcode to allow Mengniu’s consumers to access information on the history of the painting on their package, as well as nutrition and other information.
I think this is a great idea. Not only are these really cool packages that will stand out on the shelf, but they are also making some of the great masterpieces more accessible to a wide audience.
Well done, Mengniu and Tetra Pak!
