By dramatically reducing film usage, the ARTIC SS Chevron helps manufacturers meet sustainability goals while maintaining essential sterility and easy-open features.
““Right-sized packaging” is a key focus in today’s medical packaging market, when people think of sustainability, they usually focus on ‘recycling – but that’s just part of the story. Reducing waste throughout the production process by using as little material as possible – including essentially right-sizing the package design – can dramatically impact a producer’s ability to achieve sustainability goals.”

Its ability to form packs in-house provides greater process control, lowers material validation requirements, and minimizes downtime thanks to quick-changeover functionality—a simple wheel adjustment allows for fast format changes, boosting productivity.
Unlike thermoforming packaging systems, which use two rolls of film, the ARTIC SS Chevron uses a single roll of film material to make the packages, reducing the number of SKUs of material to be purchased and managed and making material qualification simpler.
The ARTIC SS Chevron offers a range of seal styles, including Chevron, Sine Wave, and Straight-pack, catering to different product and sterility requirements. Instead of using an entire sheet of Tyvek®, the system employs integrated Tyvek® webbing, reducing material waste while ensuring compatibility with ETO and Gamma Radiation sterilization methods. Additionally, its offset edge design allows for quick, aseptic opening—a crucial feature in medical environments where easy product access is vital.
